These beautiful market baskets are handwoven in the villages in Bolgatanga in northern Ghana. The bolga baskets are made out of the elephant and sea grass and are functional, durable and long lasting. They are great for shopping, picnics, the beach, home decor and can be used to hold magazines and toys.
Meet the Artisans
The Bolgatanga region of northern Ghana, and are best known of all African Bolga baskets are handmade in these farming villages. They are woven from the local, abundant kinkanhe grass. They are then colored with natural plant based dyes. The basket handles usually have a goat skin handle, although we have some that are leather-free.

They come in beautiful, unique sizes, colors and pattern.
